Scott Spears on The Tony Danza Show

“I have been to a lot of shows at the Marion Palace Theater in the last several decades, but the show that Tony Danza put on Saturday night, April 23, 2022,  may have topped them all. Tony Danza is a legendary TV star who has had major successes from Taxi to Who’s the Boss. It would be easy to lay back on those accomplishments and call it a career…not Tony Danza. Tony took the stage Saturday night, sang, tap danced, played the ukulele, and told great stories. He did this in such a way that 90 minutes seemed like 15. There were several moments during the show in which technical difficulties happened such as a microphone not working, and a microphone stand not cooperating. Tony just made those events part of the show as if nothing had happened. It did not rattle him a bit. The man has TRUE stage presence like we dont see anymore. His singing voice is on par with any of the great performers of yesteryear or any year. He works hard to entertain his audience, and he succeeds. He takes something that requires GREAT effort, and MAKES it seem effortless…that being keeping people’s attention in a youtube twitter 15 second sound bite world. Seeing Tony Danza on stage in your lifetime is a must. They say that being in front of an audience speaking is the greatest fear Americans have, greater than that of death Tony does it with ease, and dying on stage is something he will never have to worry about. In life we call songs that get played year after year classics. After seeing Tony Danza on state and meeting him in person after the show I can safely call him two things. A classic, and a gentleman. I commend everyone at the Palace theater for bringing this show to Marion. What a group of hard working people.”
